Foundry Vineyards offers a tasting experience that transcends the ordinary, blending exceptional wines with contemporary art to create a journey of sensory and intellectual exploration. Nestled in the heart of Walla Walla, Washington, the winery seamlessly merges wine culture with artistic expression.
Your adventure begins in a contemporary art gallery, where seated tastings are surrounded by captivating artworks that change quarterly. Curated by owner Lisa Anderson, their exhibitions have featured renowned artists such as Deborah Butterfield, Ai Weiwei, Chuck Close, and Kiki Smith. The vibrant and thought-provoking art elevates your senses, creating an enriching and inspiring atmosphere.
Guests can choose from two tasting experiences: Foundry Vineyards or Pét Project (on weekends). The Foundry Vineyards flight consists of both white and red still wines, offering a diverse range of flavors and styles. In contrast, the Pét Project flights boast all-natural sparkling wines with exciting varietals to experience, such as a co-fermentation of Pears and Reisling or Syrah bubbles. Regardless of which flight you choose, all the wines offered are made from organically or biodynamically farmed grapes. The Foundry team provides educational tastings that delve into Walla Walla Valley wine, as well as low-intervention and sustainable winemaking practices.
Pair your tasting with bites sourced from the local community, including spiced nuts from Foodscape, marinated olives and focaccia from Passatempo, and different popcorns from Bright’s candies. For a high-brow/low-brow experience, indulge in caviar from Tsar Nicoulai Caviar, paired with Roots Potato Chips and Crème Fraîche.
The commitment to art extends to the large outdoor patio, where sculptures are peppered throughout, inviting exploration as you enjoy your wine. As a family-owned business, it’s important to the owners that every member of your family is welcome, including your furry friends on the patio.
