Walla Walla Valley Wineries Gear up for Fall Release, Holiday Barrel Tasting weekends

8th Annual Collaborative Fundraiser Launches to Fight Local Hunger, Includes Auction and Wine Reception with Live Music
October 15, 2015
WALLA WALLA, WA — As the 2015 wine grape harvest winds down in the Walla Walla Valley, wineries are gearing up for two special event weekends.
• Fall Release Weekend, November 6-8, 2015
• Holiday Barrel Tasting Weekend, December 4-6, 2015
Each winery participates in its own unique way, providing visitors with a variety of options to map out a fun weekend. During Fall Release, many wineries pour their new releases, host live music and put on special winemaker dinners.
“Fall is such a beautiful time of year in the Walla Walla Valley,” said Duane Wollmuth, Executive Director of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance. “The weather is generally crisp but mild, and you can’t beat the sight of leaves turning color in the vineyards.”
Most of the wineries decorate for Holiday Barrel Tasting Weekend, with many offering visitors a chance to try new wines straight from the barrel.
“Wineries really get into the spirit of the season,” Wollmuth said. “Many offer special pricing, or the opportunity to purchase wines found only in the tasting rooms.”
A full schedule of events for each weekend can be found online at www.wallawalla.org.
