April 2023 is the 4th Annual Walla Walla Valley Wine Month

Presented by Walla Walla Valley Wine and its members, April is the perfect month to enjoy all the Valley has to offer!

WALLA WALLA, Wash. (March 30, 2023) –This weekend, Walla Walla Valley Wine will kick off the fourth annual Walla Walla Valley Wine Month – a thirty-day celebration of the wine region, and all it has to offer. Throughout April, the focus will be on celebrating and experiencing Walla Walla Valley wine through special winery events, promotions, and tasting experiences. The first Walla Walla Valley Wine Month took place in April 2020.

“We selected April as Walla Walla Valley Wine Month because it presents the quintessential elements of spring in wine country. We want to shine a light on this transformative time of year and all it has to offer in the region,” says Liz Knapke, Executive Director of Walla Walla Valley Wine. “The month marks the return of green to the vines and is home to the first official wine weekend of the year, Spring Kick-Off Weekend. April also happens to be nestled between Taste Washington Wine Month in March and Oregon Wine Month in May, just as the gem-shaped cross-border Walla Walla Valley AVA is positioned.”

April is brimming with activity in the Walla Walla Valley, with wineries hosting live music, special dinners, unique tasting experiences, and more. For those who can’t visit the Walla Walla Valley during April, wines are always available for purchase online, with many wineries offering special packages and discounted shipping. Wine enthusiasts can find a list of special offerings for the month on WallaWallaWine.com/Wine-Month.

In addition to winery offerings, Walla Walla Valley Wine will conduct a social media campaign throughout the month sharing information about the wine region ranging from details of terroir to recommended wine pairings.

“Walla Walla Valley Wine Month is a special time to explore the many dimensions of Walla Walla Valley Wine,” says Knapke. “Interested wine enthusiasts can shop wine in person and online, attend special events, plan a tasting outing, or simply follow along on social media to learn about the Walla Walla Valley AVA and begin planning their next trip.”
