Additional Information
JL Chamberlain is grower, winemaker and "cellar rat" for the winery. JLC houses two labels. The estate label is SPOFFORD STATION. The James Leigh Cellars label has been available since the 2001 vintage, making us one of the "middle old guy wineries." The wine works as a testament to the power of the vineyard created by the cataclysmic Missoula floods. Multiply the depth of color by 3, intensify the ripeness and you'll have a JLC wine with structural power and silk stocking legs. You'll recognize the Spofford label as the historic railroad grain elevator and James Leigh Cellars by the antique cigar band labels.
Events
September 10: Vineyard and Pasture Wine Dinner #2 at Spofford Station Foothills Vineyard from 5:30-9p.m. Guests will be treated to a farm wagon ride into the vineyard for a tasting of Spofford Station and JLC wines. Lynne Chamberlain, wine grape grower and wine maker, will explain what she looks for in each varietal and what she does in the vineyard to ensure the best expression of the grape. Dinner, $65 per person, includes an entree of Cabernet Cow and 2 glasses of wine. Wine will also be available by glass or bottle. To reserve a place at the table call 509-956-9743 or email wine@brixspot.com Must be 21 or older.
