Walla Walla Valley to Launch Exclusive Auction for Wine Trade

Walla Walla Valley to Launch Exclusive Auction for Wine Trade
WALLA WALLA, WA — The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance is thrilled to announce a new auction for the wine trade, to take place April 17-18, 2016 in Walla Walla, Washington. Reveal Walla Walla Valley Wine will feature 35 one of a kind wine lots from prestigious Walla Walla Valley wineries. Select members of the wine trade will be invited to taste barrel samples of the lots, and bid on them during a live auction.
“We believe this event will provide members of the wine trade a unique opportunity to sample and purchase some very special wine lots that are not available through any other means,” said Duane Wollmuth, Executive Director of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance. “These small case lots represent some of the most sought after and prestigious wines that the Walla Walla Valley wine region is known for.”
All proceeds from Reveal Walla Walla Valley Wine will benefit the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance, a 501c6 non-profit organization. The funds will be put right back into marketing the Walla Walla Valley AVA as one of the greatest winegrowing regions in the world.
“We see this auction as a win-win-win opportunity,” Wollmuth said. “It’s a win for the trade, who will gain access to taste and purchase one-of-a-kind wines, a win for our winemakers to meet trade from all over the country, and a win for the Wine Alliance to further support our mission of marketing the Walla Walla Valley AVA.”
Reveal Walla Walla Valley Wine will kick-off on Sunday, April 17 with a reserve tasting and reception at Foundry Vineyards, where attendees will taste library wines and mingle with Walla Walla Valley winemakers. On Monday, April 18, attendees will be invited to taste barrel samples of every single wine lot at the Marcus Whitman Hotel, and then sit down for a casual lunch at the historic Whitehouse-Crawford Restaurant. The live auction of wine lots will be held inside the beautiful Gesa Power House Theatre, followed by dinner and celebration at Dunham Cellars.
“We decided to condense the events into a day and a half, so as to not take too much time out of our attendees’ busy schedules,” Wollmuth explained. “Although we encourage trade attendees to extend their stay if possible, the schedule of events provides a great amount of exposure to Walla Walla Valley wines and winemakers in a short amount of time.”
Reveal Walla Walla Valley Wine is an invitation-only event. For information regarding travel, lodging and registration please visit www.revealwallawalla.com.
